Overcoming January Blues

A Guide to Overcoming January Blues | Twig Fragrance Co.

Ah, January. That time of year when the holidays are over and the winter blues begin to set in. It’s the time of year when we all need a little extra self-care and comfort. One way to do this is by creating a calming atmosphere in our home with some soothing scents. We know that candles are great for setting the mood, so why not take it one step further and try wooden-wick candles? Wooden wick candles provide an inviting atmosphere with their crackling sounds that mimic a real fire and their delightful aromas. But if you can’t enjoy the outdoors, there are other ways to bring those fragrances indoors too! Let’s take a look at some tips for overcoming “January Blues” with some soothing scents.

Self Care
When it comes to beating the winter blues, self-care should always be your number one priority. Take time to nourish yourself with healthy meals (Simply Quinoa is one of my favourite sites for healthy recipes), get enough rest, exercise regularly, and make time for activities that bring you joy! A good self-care routine will help keep your stress levels low and give you more energy throughout the day. When it comes to relaxation, you can also add something special like lighting a candle or using essential oils or diffusers.

Creating a Calming Atmosphere in Your Home
Lighting a candle is one of the best ways to create an atmosphere of calm in your home. Wooden wick candles have been gaining popularity lately due to their unique crackling sound which mimics that of an actual fire. These candles also come in delightful scents such as lavender and pine which can help create a sense of tranquility in any room! If you don’t have access to outdoor fragrances like pine or eucalyptus, try bringing them inside with Twig Room Sprays or Wax Melts which will fill any room with outdoor fragrances without having to light a flame!

Additional Tips for Overcoming "January Blues"
Practice gratitude - Make sure to take time each day to appreciate what you have in life instead of focusing on what is missing or going wrong. This can help put things into perspective and remind us of how blessed we truly are!
Spend time with friends - Socializing is important for mental health and wellbeing during this difficult season! Try meeting up for coffee (or tea!) or taking walks together outdoors if possible.
Give yourself permission - As humans, we tend to put pressure on ourselves during this time of year but it is important to remember that no one else can decide how happy we should be; only we can do that! So give yourself permission to take breaks when needed or allow yourself moments of sadness if they come up naturally; it's okay not be okay sometimes!

Wintertime can be especially difficult but there are plenty of ways we can ease our minds during these colder months – including introducing cozy scents into our homes through wooden wick candles or room sprays & melts from Twig Fragrance Co.  Taking care of ourselves should always be our top priority but adding comforting touches like these can make all the difference when trying to beat those “January Blues”! Hopefully these tips have helped give you some ideas on how to make your home even warmer this winter season. Happy hibernating everyone!
